Auto Adjuster- Intern

Purpose of Job

A hands-on, 10 week program with an inside look into the world of claims. With the main focus on low to moderately complex auto claims, interns work under direct supervision, perform routine work assignments and problem resolution. This internship Includes opportunities to learn about other aspects and professionals of insurance. Interns recognize life events, understand member needs, and provide advice in order to deliver appropriate solutions. This program offers many exciting opportunities to work across multiple locations providing fresh perspectives and innovate ideas to help improve processes and services for USAA members. Job Requirements

The Auto Adjuster Internship is offered in five USAA locations; San Antonio, TX, Tampa, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, and Chesapeake, VA. 

Tasks:

Provides AUTO/CASUALTY claims service via internal channels (phone/email/fax/mail/other electronic channels) to members and third party customers.
Adjusts low to moderately complex auto claims.
Severity of claims work includes liability, non-injury, and auto theft/fire losses.
Acquires and applies foundational knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages and the USAA claim handling process and procedures.
Seeks guidance from team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation.
Partners and/or directs vendors and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolution.
Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe operations as needed to include working significant overtime during designated CAT's.

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma

Insurance Adjuster's license (You must pass a licensing exam within a designated number of attempts and have the ability to become licensed in all applicable states. USAA will provide the study and training environment to assist you with the licensing exam.)

Minimum Experience:

Up to 1 year of customer contact experience required.

Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required.
