Business Data and Analytics Executive

Purpose of Job

** This posting is for two separate Data and Analytics Executive positions on the Banking Business Intelligence and Analytics team, one that will lead D&A for Bank Deposits & Money Movement, and the other for Bank Credit Card & Consumer Lending. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for both positions. **

This Data & Analytics Executive will be responsible for providing executive leadership and operational direction to Data & Analytics teams that support across one or more USAA Bank business units.

This executive will oversee all aspects of data and analytics, including Information Strategy & Architecture, Data Management, Information Governance, Business Intelligence, and Predictive Analytics and Insights Delivery. In this capacity, the D&A Executive will also be responsible for short-term and long-term strategy and vision for supported business units and set objectives across the different sub-functions while maintaining alignment with enterprise strategies.

Job Requirements

  • Establish a vision and lead the strategy for the delivery of information and analytics platforms and solutions to key stakeholders and partner across the supported business units and sub-functions. 
  • As the leader responsible for successful end to end process of information management, analytics, and information delivery; this executive oversees the tactical, operational, and financial activities associated with the various planning, resourcing, staffing, and governance aspects of the data and analytics function. This includes the development of successful talent recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and development plans.
  • Lead high-performing teams in the development, implementation, management, and maintenance of data and analytics; including the development of new techniques and best practices that deliver effective reporting and insights to meet goals and objectives that align to strategy.


  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+years of progressive related experience developing strategies, managing major initiatives and delivering results within a complex matrix environment
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams
  • Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals
  • Executive-level business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Corporate Finance, Information Science, Quantitative Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in retail banking
  • Deep experience working within Agile teams
  • Proven experience leading highly technical teams of data engineers, decision scientists, business intelligence analysts and strategy analysts producing insights and recommendations for Retail Banking products across Pricing, Marketing, Sales, Channels, Risk, Portfolio Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Customer Experience.
  • Results oriented, customer focused, creative and persistent problem solver with proven ability to develop, organize, motivate and lead multi-functional teams with diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills focused on effectively delivering presentations of varying technical subject matters to senior management and executive levels.
  • Experience leading teams, collaborating and working on strategic initiatives in cross product, cross-company, horizontal and matrixed environments.
