Senior Compliance Advisor - Regulatory Affairs

Purpose of Job

We are currently seeking a talented Sr Compliance Advisor – Regulatory Affairs for our San Antonio, TX facility.

This role will provide regulatory guidance with the facilitation of cross-functional examinations and ongoing supervisory activities for the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, CFPB, and GSEs.

The Sr Compliance Advisor guides and facilitates cross-functional teams in the strategy development and implementation of compliance solutions. Independently performs complex work assignments and problem resolution within the line of business and enterprise-wide projects. Reviews laws and regulations for business impact and completes risk assessments. Identifies compliance opportunities and potential solutions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience beyond the minimum education required.
  • 6 or more years relevant work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant regulatory data sources.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant industry regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Preferred

  • 8+ years experience in large retail bank environment as a liaison between regulators and business executives, OR equivalent experience
    • Equivalent = minimum 8 years as:
      • A Federal Regulator for banks (FDIC, OCC, Federal Reserve) with experience supervising large banks with assets > $80B
      • Top tier firm (Big 4, Protiviti, Treliant etc.) with experience auditing or consulting with large banks with assets > $80B
  • 8+ years experience as a Federal Reserve Regulator in large bank supervision.
  • Experience with negotiation, conflict resolution, and effective communication; including strong ability to advocate in writing and orally, and ability to deliver clear messaging to wide variety of audiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of internal controls, compliance business and information technology risks in a large retail bank environment.
  • Advanced/Expert knowledge of the regulatory environment for financial services.
  • Preferred designations include
    • CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager)
    • CIA (Certified Internal Auditor)
    • CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor),
    • CRMA (Certified in Risk Management Assurance) or other relevant business designation
