Senior Recruiter

Purpose of Job

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Recruiter for our San Antonio, TX or Remote facility.

Job Requirements

Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain ongoing relationships and partnerships with hiring leaders, candidate pools, peer partners, and third-party vendors to deliver candidates for USAA's hiring needs. Consults with management to lead cross-functional teams when implementing sourcing strategies to proactively identify candidates and assemble diverse pipeline of talent for open positions. Responds to inquiries pertaining to Recruiting or business- related policy and process application. Performs complex work assignments and problem resolution across the enterprise.​

  • Manages complex recruiting initiatives and is a lead strategic partner to identified business lines in development of recruiting plans.
  • Identifies and builds community partnerships to generate candidates in alignment with organization's hiring and program objectives.
  • Develops and implements creative sourcing strategies to proactively identify candidates and assemble pipeline of talent for open positions.
  • Forecast and manage talent pool size to fulfill workforce plans and hiring objectives.
  • Performs full life cycle recruiting utilizing various recruitment methods.
  • Consults to hiring managers and/or coworkers through the recruiting processes to ensure compliance within external and internal regulatory agencies.
  • Takes lead and facilitates cross-functional teams in the strategy development and implementation of business hiring solutions.
  • Coordinates with internal and external partners to establish community networks and relationships in support of our military, diversity and college hiring requirements with minimal guidance.
  • Serves as a resource to less experienced team members on escalations and policy guidance.
  • Acquires and applies intermediate knowledge of relevant human resources discipline(s), specifically employment law, policy and procedure.
  • Resolves issues and navigates obstacles to deliver work product.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 or more years of progressive work experience in staffing, general human resources, and/or account relationship management, to include knowledge of applicable employment laws.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products and other software to support sourcing tools and techniques.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years experience in either full cycle corporate or agency recruitment, with a strong interest in delivering results leveraging either of these experiences
  • Experience with developing and executing creative/innovative sourcing solutions using a variety of tools and technology
  • Proven experience evaluating labor market analytic and employing recruitment marketing strategies within emerging talent audiences
  • Experience as a consultant to clients for niche positions.
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport, gain the confidence and influence outcomes for both hiring managers and candidates
  • Experience recruiting in the Financial Services industry
  • Recent experience recruiting for Risk, Audit, Compliance or Technology Roles.
