The Opportunity

The Assistant Vice President, Bank Compliance Advisory will oversee all aspects in the Advisory space of the Bank Compliance team. Daily interaction with all levels of FSB, GC, CAO and COO management regarding compliance progress, project implementation, management issues and legal/regulatory risk mitigation strategies.  This position will be responsible for building out and maintaining a robust compliance advisory program and associated procedures around all product lines within Enterprise Business Solutions.

This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

What You'll Do:

  • Leads the Bank Advisory Compliance team which includes the Lending, Banking, and Customer Contact
  • Establish and improve roles, policies and procedures for Compliance Management by all FSB business operational areas
  • Responsible for operational strategy development within Bank Compliance
  • Regular interaction with Senior Management and regulators on progress of compliance oversight, challenges, and future state design
  • Lead subordinate teams in producing work deliverables in support of Enterprise initiatives
  • Stand up and oversee the BIS compliance program: identify risk and need, staff to meet need, establish policy and procedures to mitigate risk
  • Leads broad functional and Enterprise projects
  • Often serves as an executive sponsor for projects
  • Identifies opportunities and facilitates transformative improvements to operating models and systems
  • Responsible for the financial and operational budgets and staffing plans for their sub teams

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 10 or more years of progressive related experience developing strategies, managing major initiatives and delivering results within a complex matrix environment required
  • 6 or more years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams required
  • Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals required
  • Executive-level business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required

Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations, to include:

  • CRA; ECOA; FCRA; MLA; SCRA; Regulation DD; Regulation E; Regulation Z; and UDAP/UDAAP
  • Regulation YY; Regulation W; and 12 CFR Part 30, including Appendices A through E
  • General understanding of federal supervisory guidance, including but not limited to: letters, bulletins, manuals, handbooks, proposals, and statements from the Federal Reserve, OCC, CFPB, and FFIEC

What Sets You Apart:

  • 5 + Years of direct experience with disputes and fraud compliance; 2nd Line of Defense
  • Direct experience working with core banking Regulatory Agencies, such as the OCC and CFPB

Compenasation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $188,330 - $338,990.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
