AML Modeling Analyst II

Purpose of Job

We are currently seeking talented AML Modeling Analyst II for our Tampa, FL (Crosstown) or Remote facility.

Provides technical and quantitative support to develop, test, validate, and maintain, predictive models that contribute to a business, product, or service. This position is building its knowledge of the insurance business and company operations, and the practical implications of various statistical research outcomes and metrics on business decisions. Responsible for statistical analyses, actuarial and/or research methods, as well as drawing inferences, developing reports, and presenting analysis and recommendations to appropriate audiences on low to moderately complex assignments. Participates in a limited number of different projects simultaneously, and/or may also be responsible for routine research projects.

Job Requirements

  • Performs professional duties in support of operations for the functional area assigned
  • Applies developing functional knowledge to produce moderately complex work deliverables in support of departmental initiatives
  • Manages limited departmental and functional projects and/or participates as a project resource on larger initiatives
  • Identifies opportunities and facilitates moderate improvements to processes and systems
  • Performs routine to moderately complex tasks under direct supervision and has limited discretion to deviate from established procedures and guidelines

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree Required OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 2 or more years of related experience and accountability for moderately complex tasks and/or projects required
  • Developing knowledge of the function/discipline and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products required
  • Developing level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required
  • Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required

  • 2 or more years AML experience in transaction monitoring in design/validation statistical analysis and model development
  • Proven experience in one or more industry platforms (i.e. Actimize)
  • Proven experience working with model risk management in the model validation process.
  • Proven experience in retail banking organization
  • Active AML Certifications
  • Proficiency in SQL and standard modeling tools (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Python, R, etc.)
  • Experience in conducting and documenting tuning and optimization activities related to Transaction Monitoring models, including data validation, statistical analysis, recommendation of thresholds, and presentation of results
  • Experience in producing documentation in a highly regulated environment
