The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Risk Analyst for our P&C Governance and Risk Programs, who will demonstrate expertise in coordinating risk committees and governance routines. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with senior management, showcasing the ability to influence outcomes and resolve conflicts effectively. This role requires skills in data-informed communication, translating data into actionable insights, and presenting these insights through clear reports and presentations. Additionally, the candidate should proficiently identify and propose solutions to operational and risk-related challenges.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is located in our San Antonio, TX home office.

- Partners with key customers in the business to identify, assess, aggregate and document risks and controls, including risks associated with new or modified products, services, distribution channels, regulations and third-party operations using knowledge.
- Communicates results of risk assessments to governance committees, business process owners and various levels of leadership.
- Implements new risk policies, practices, appetites and solutions to ensure comprehensive understanding and management of risks according to industry standard process.
- Improves and contributes to strategies, tools, and methodologies to measure, monitor, and report risks.
- Applies knowledge to use or produce analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand business objectives and influence solution strategies.
- Serves as a catalyst in cross-functional teams to identify, assess, aggregate and mitigate current and emerging risk events.
- Formulates stress test plans for a line of business or the enterprise including the evaluation of results and framing of contingency plans in partnership with key business partners.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 6 years of risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area to include banking, insurance, financial services, audit, project management, public accounting or other related operational area.
- Or advanced degree/designation in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or other subject area relevant to risk management and 4 years of work experience in a field relevant to risk management.
- Risk management experience in a complex institution and/or highly matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution management and ability to effectively challenge at all levels of management and influence business outcomes.
- Ability to optimally work with both internal and external partners in a highly collaborative environment.
- Proven critical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques and decision-making abilities, to include proven ability to effectively make data-driven decisions.
- Proactively identifies potential concerns and follows-up to resolve issues.
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint.
What sets you apart:
- Experience with Committee or Governance: Proven experience coordinating and facilitating risk committees or governance routines, including agenda development, materials preparation, minute-taking, follow-up on action items, and record-keeping.
- Project management, process management or chief of staff experience in the risk and compliance fields
- Experience with Senior Management: A track record of successfully influencing outcomes at senior management levels, showcasing conflict resolution skills and the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
- Data-Informed Communication and Independent Problem Solving: Proven track record to translate data into actionable insights, effectively communicate those insights through clear and concise written reports and presentations, and use this analysis to identify and propose solutions to operational or risk-related problems.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $197,730.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
