The Opportunity
As a dedicated Infrastructure Engineer- Intermediate level, you will work with the Corporate and Global IT Solutions Team in USAA’s Workforce Digital Services department, part of the Enterprise Chief Information Office. They will work with multiple audio visual technologies while executing projects throughout the enterprise. Your contributions will help optimize production AV services by balancing availability, security, efficiency, and functionality.
Within defined guidelines and framework, responsible for creating, modifying, maintaining and supporting infrastructure and individual system components that enable business functions and IT Services. Balance availability, security, efficiency, and functional requirements to help provide an optimized production service. Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensure these risks are effectively identified and escalated to be measured, monitored and controlled.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to bein the office 4 days per week.This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance isnotavailable for this position.
What you'll do:
- Under direct supervision, design scalable IT system infrastructure, implements system changes with some independence; may automate service delivery, maintenance tasks, and builds the ecosystem for solutions including individual infrastructure components.
- Resolves simple technology production issues with some assistance through troubleshooting systems. Identifies issues for escalation.
- Analyzes outages in order to identify opportunities for solutions.
- Participates in product selection and testing. Understands engineering best practices, concepts, and patterns
- Intake customer requirements and aligns requirements to standardized product offerings Interacts with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions. – and would need to be differentiated across levels
- Develop software defined infrastructure in code in CI/CD Pipelines
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement can be used in lieu of a degree OR Approved certification from CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT (Veterans for IT) or eFIT (Employees for IT).
- 2 years of infrastructure experience specific to a discipline/technology or applicable IT experience such as IT Management, Software Development, Data Engineering, and Agile Product/Release Management.
- 1 year of experience in creating, modifying, and maintaining infrastructure and individual system components.
- Developing level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, risk management, industry practices and emerging trends.
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools
What sets you apart:
- 2 years of audio visual infrastructure experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding in AV design, collaborative Zoom systems, basic commercial construction practices and working with third party audio visual vendors
- Proficient level of business acumen in the areas of IT operations, risk management, addressing customer concerns and questions, AV industry practices and emerging AV trends
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools in the AV space
- Experience with digital signal processor setup, firmware updates, and other device updates
- Availability for domestic travel, as needed
Compensation range:The salary range for this position is: $69,920-$133,620.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
