The Opportunity
As a dedicated Facilities Management Operations Senior, you will support Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Services (CREWS) activities within a regional portfolio (Chesapeake, VA) to ensure tactical coordination of issues related to facility and property management to include: facility operations, projects, financial planning and budgeting, life safety and emergency response, sustainability, customer relationship management, strategy and planning, and third-party risk management.
This position will be based in our Chesapeake, VA office location.
Relocation assistance is available for this position.
What you'll do:
Provides day-to-day facilities operations support to include building management, safety, logistics, fleet, mail and meeting and events.
Serves as the USAA CREWS liaison for tactical customer interactions, to include responding to employee inquiries, meeting engagement, special event support, and customer satisfaction.
Engages in operational start-up activities for new properties and decommissioning activities for locations that are closing.
Participates as a project team member during project planning and implementation and works closely with Project Managers to minimize construction impacts on business operations during construction efforts.
Supports critical system preventive and unplanned maintenance work.
Provide insights into the creation and execution of 5-year capital and expense plans for the efficient operation of individual location facility needs. Responsibilities include providing monthly financial forecasting inputs during the forecast process along with variance explanations.
Represents CREWS on local business continuation teams by serving as backup evacuation team member, situation manager, and/or situation management team backup.
Liaises with safety team on tactical safety issues and supports resolution.
Responsible for the completion of EPA Energy Star and LEED inputs. Supports enterprise tactical sustainability initiatives (i.e., Earth Day, recycling, disposal, EPA Energy Star and LEED, etc.).
Serves as backup to FM Ops Director for raised issues.
Participates in occupancy and planning initiatives to include space utilization, moves, adds, and changes.
Monitors supplier performance by ensuring supplier financial spend is aligned with USAA approved operating plans and evaluating supplier performance on a monthly basis using the approved scoring methodology.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
6 years of experience in a facility and/or property management environment.
Demonstrated experience in technical building operations
Demonstrated customer relationship skills to include active listening, adaptability, attention to detail, dependability, conflict resolution, responsiveness, and timeliness related to meeting employee/business needs.
Proficient understanding of Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Services business operations to include maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing facility operations and services.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel 15-30% of the year to distributed sites.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $106,650.00 - $191,970.00.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
