The Opportunity
As a dedicated HR Manager, you will be the face of HR on the ground with our employees and leaders, championing the development and execution of talent initiatives that drive our success. You'll be a trusted advisor, providing insightful guidance and support across the entire employee lifecycle. Accountable for providing advice, guidance, and support to leaders in the execution of talent programs and processes, proactive advising, and raised employee issues. Serves as the primary liaison and subject matter expert to HR centers of excellence (COEs) to create, enhance and deliver talent initiatives and programs and enables the development and delivery of talent strategies in partnership with HR Business Partners. This is an individual contributor role.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based in Chesapeake, VA.

What you'll do:
Proactively anticipates and drives the execution of the HR programs related to enterprise talent offerings across all domains of the HR portfolio.
Provides proactive and insightful advice and guidance to leaders related to HR processes and programs.
Drives the implementation, execution, and ongoing management of key processes (including HRIS processes) tied to the enterprise talent lifecycle which includes succession planning, development planning, skills management, performance management, high potential identification, and other processes.
Leads the identification of requirements related to HR processes and programs and collaboration with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and HR CoEs to improve the effectiveness and relevance of HR policies, programs, and services.
Independently navigates, coordinates, and executes activities in support of talent program deliverables.
Provides consultation for employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with USAA policies and applicable laws. Conducts initial Employee Relations investigations and addresses workplace concerns and escalates cases as appropriate.
Understands the data environment and leverages insights in support of talent strategy development and execution.
Provides advice, coaching, and guidance to leadership.
Provides mentorship and guidance to internal HR stakeholders, encourages continuous learning and professional development, and stays current with the latest industry trends.
Delivers employee relations training programs including NEO and leadership development.
Leverages critical thinking skills to ensure appropriate outcomes and solutions.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree required OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
6 years of relevant work experience in human resources, business management or business consulting.
Experience leading cross-functional teams or projects requiring strong collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
Experience partnering with leadership to provide proactive recommendations to business problems, projects, or initiatives.
Demonstrated experience leveraging data and insights in influencing differing stakeholder groups in a matrixed environment.
Advanced experience leveraging business and organizational insights in the enhancement of programs or processes.
Advanced experience managing multiple, competing priorities.
Demonstrated experience building trust and relationships with differing stakeholder groups.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770.00 - $179,240.00.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
