The Opportunity

The Corporate Strategy Internship lets you showcase your skills, while gaining real-life experience that’ll help you jump-start your career. Our interns deliver innovative solutions to real business challenges, while building enduring relationships in a collaborative culture with their manager and an assigned mentor.

The internship is based at USAA Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, TX.

What you'll do:

Under direct supervision and following risk and compliance procedures and guidance, you will perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members tasks, including the following

• Support internal consulting projects and build knowledge of strategic opportunities and issues faced by the organization. Conduct targeted research and collect data from various internal and external sources. Perform high-impact analysis and recommend changes that will aid in evaluating and crafting business solutions. Provide support in the creation of compelling storylines that clearly articulate findings, insights, and recommendations.
• Supervise and assess external trends; conduct industry and competitive research to identify potential strategic opportunities and threats. Support communicating insights and development of recommendations to leadership.
• Assist with strategy communication and alignment: Support the communication of the organization’s strategy to key collaborators up to the C-suite and Board of Directors.
• Monitor and report on progress: Assist with supervising the progress of the organization’s strategic initiatives and reporting on results to senior management and other stakeholders as advised.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you need to have:

To qualify, you must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years. Our 2025 internship will start on May 28, 2025 and last through August 8, 2025.

• Graduation date cannot be prior to August 8, 2025
• Knowledge of project management principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong research, data analysis, written and oral communication skills

• Graduation date between August 2025 and July 2026
• Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or related discipline
• Proven leadership ability through previous internships, employment, classes, extra-curricular or club activities

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $22 - $24. Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the hourly range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual hourly rate for this role may vary by location.
