The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a talented Director, Product Management - Technology strategy. This role will help drive the Technology strategy for Enterprise Risk & Compliance (ERC). Key components of the role will be to bring the right combination of industry experience/insights and technical expertise to define the art of the possible for ERC, and drive/promote internal dialogue and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure success. The individual will work closely with enterprise, business and technical architects/experts to build and deliver on an optimal technology roadmap to modernize and upgrade ERC’s infrastructure and technology applications/solutions. The individual will deliver written and verbal recommendations to senior executives on the strategy, timeline, business cases, investments and trade-offs (both business and technical) required to achieve targeted business outcomes. This role is open for the San Antonio Home Office.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in the following location: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Responsible for communicating and promoting the product value proposition to the stakeholders.
- Develops new product or sales offerings and enhanced features/services to existing product or sales offerings
- Leads research, analysis and evaluates performance metrics to drive recommendations for market opportunities or product enhancements
- Leverages resources to gather data to support formulation of product strategy and acquire competitive intelligence.
- Partners with appropriate collaborators to develop communications for product and pricing strategies to key collaborators and committees within the respective COSA and the enterprise.
- Builds and oversees a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related subject area; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 8 years of related industry experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Distribution or Sales/Service or Finance/Accounting Operations or Financial Services.
- 4 years of product management, or similar strategic management experience (similar experience includes direct support in managing product performance).
- 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
- 3 years of Data Visualization experience (i.e. Tableau).
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (i.e. FDIC, CFPB, OCC).
- Experience Owning, Forecasting, and Managing a Product P&L .
- Experienced in market research to create product roadmap, make product decisions and iterate rapidly.
- Expert knowledge of applicable product related regulations and, risk and compliance requirements.
What sets you apart:
- 6+ years of experience in Management/Strategy Consulting at a top-tier Consulting firm, working with Financial Services clients in the Risk & Compliance space.
- Demonstrated track record in technology modernization and automation as evidenced through leadership of strategic initiatives and outcomes achieved
- Deep understanding of Risk & Compliance technology landscape, including vendor products and solutions in Enterprise/Operational Risk (ServiceNow, Salesforce, Archer, etc.,)
- Experience evaluating technology opportunities/solutions and developing technology product strategy, plans and roadmaps
- Experience in developing and delivering Risk and Compliance applications at large financial institutions.
- ·US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner [optional]

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $143,320 - $273,930.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
